#215527 Chapter 437 Discussion

Posted by bassclef on 27 February 2009 - 07:10 AM in Latest Releases

Pfftt... *stifles giggle* Mhmm... Hahahahaha. I expected no less from a mangaka who abuses deus ex machina. This is exactly the type of thing that drew me away from the series way back after the Sasori fight. I come back for 431 in attempt to understand as to why he chose to make Konoha into the perfect shape of a man-made lake. It seems I'll continue shunning of the series. I don't know why but I feel as though Kishimoto and his team pick the plot as it is by putting key phrases and words on pieces of paper, shuffles them in a hat, and use whatever they grab as the next chapter.

Well, at least this won't stop me from reading NaruSaku fanfiction.

#209219 Unbearably Disappointing Game

Posted by bassclef on 03 January 2009 - 07:08 AM in Gamer Lounge

I'm not entirely sure what it was for me, but I guess it was the introduction of new modes, more characters, better graphics, and the unexplainable part of it never getting old. A melee fight, whether it be against the AI or friends, always left me revved up for another. I suppose a probable explaination is the large margin of improvement between Smash Bros and Melee.

Brawl felt more like an obligated move to do. In terms of gameplay and mechanics both Melee and Brawl were nearly identical, which I didn't mind. Visuals I really can't complain about considering the approximated 1.5x horse power difference between the GameCube and Wii. Particular stages and trademark music accompaning each other really allowed cusomization to favorite stages. The addition of bringing in guest composers blew me away. Having Nobuo Uematsu compose the main theme just put me into awe for weeks. Realizing something right now that Melee's Adventure mode had no real plot and yet Brawl's Sub-Space Emissary has the aforemented finite mood. Smash Bros seems more like a mindlees fighter series with no plot to back up the action, right?

Can't think of anything else right now, sorry ^^;

#209202 Unbearably Disappointing Game

I agree 100% on The Force Unleashed. Even the DLC for it wasn't worth buying. Another game that was a disappointment to me was Fable 2. I got just about everything within a week. When I say everything, I mean everything. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing game, but the core of the game was just too short .

Oh, I'm going to add Brawl to my list. It's awesome and all, but it didn't have the replay value Melee had. I mean, since 2001 to 2006 I still played Melee A LOT. When Brawl came out I stopped playing it (Brawl) entirely after a month. The drive to keep playing just wasn't there even with Online gameplay. I'm going to blame Story Mode. The Subspace Emissary sent out a sense of finality like an action adventure game that's only worth renting.

Hmm, well, putting the problems that spawned from Season 2/Volume 2 aside, my interest in the series is right back where it started after December 8th's episode "Our Father". The focusing of multiple story arcs into a 43 minute weekly episode seems to have ended. This move is something I've been waiting for since season 2. In other words, having an episode focus on fewer characters and have their storyline intertwine with another allows the viewer to 'digest' the overall story much more easily. It may not seem like a minimalist strategy to some, but the simplicity gives just enough to entice viewers to tune into next week's episode.

Who else here loved the interaction between Claire and Hiro? Ah, language barriers...

You know, at this rate Claire may become immortal like the late Adam Monroe one day. And the only person who could possibly stay as a constant figure in her life would be Hiro. Yeah, I'm hoping that Hiro and Claire get together. Hiro x Claire, all right! If you search with the keywords "Masi" and "Hayden" you'll see a lot of photos of the two together. The two actors may not be in a romantic relationship, but to me there seems to be great chemistry going on.

Too bad Hayden Penettiere and Milo Ventimiglia are dating. 12 year age gap. Interesting.

#206354 Resident Evil 5

Hmm, I thought Chris and Jill went on one more mission together in RE: Umbrella Chronicles for the Wii.

Don't forget she was exposed to the T-Virus back in RE3: Nemesis. I wouldn't be surprised that even with the vaccine Jill's life expectancy was dramatically reduced.

But no one will know for sure until Biohazard/Restident Evil 5 comes out.

Hmm, oh well. But your dog still looks suspiciously like a Rat Terrier despite the two breeds being closely related.

#205950 What type of music do you listen too?

Posted by bassclef on 11 December 2008 - 06:06 AM in Arts & Entertainment District

Hmm, I listen to so many genres. Does Nobuo Uematsu count as a genre? XD He's written music for almost every genre out there (slight exaggeration).

Primarily for me it's: Rock and its many sub categories, Classical, Jazz, Swing, music from the 60's (lol), and individual songs from every other genre out there. Yeah, I'm all over the place.

Use Neosporin (sp?), it'll help minimize the appearence of the scar... That is if it hasn't fully healed already.
