#581834 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Hey, I was trying to spread Man of Steel, but now we want heel Hinata over snapped neck Sasuke. To each of their own, I guess.

I'm considering making a joke that refers to the finale of that series, but I'm afraid I'll be in trouble, so I'll keep my mouth shut.

Here's something else that comes to mind: Considering that there have been a lot of RtN parallels- and rightfully so, considering that Kishi was behind it- I can't help but wonder how the end of the movie will match up with various possible directions that the plot could talk from this point. Any ideas? (PS- Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, Mods.)

At times I feel like this, but I won't give up. Every single recent chapter, we've gotten small little NS moments. Even if they may not mean much, it confirms NS is still here. All of these small moments are going to built up into a huge moment, guaranteed. I still have alot of faith in NS, I always will.

Good point.

The reason I brought this up, though, is that some people feel that NaruSaku, as a pairing, is not consistent with how the themes of the story have been developed, up to this point. I disagree, of course.  :chuckle:

Imo, the Land of Iron Arc established several things.

1. Naruto is no longer bound by his promise to Sakura- There s a panel in the aftermath where someone comments that Naruto looks peaceful like a burden has been lifted from him.

2. Sakura still has feelings for Sasuke-And until I see her actually get over him I don't think these feelings have dissappeared yet.

3. Sakura has no chance of affecting Sasuke in any way, only Naruto- During the confrontation she admitted that she would have to trust in Naruto to make her dream of team 7 being together again.

4. Naruto didn't believe her confession-Here's where it get's tricky. While some ppl believe that he didn't believe her statement that she loved him, imo he didn't buy the fact that she said that he was the only one that she loved. It was a fake confession, but only bc she lied about moving on from Sasuke, not bc she lied about her feelings for Naruto.

Well said!

I'd like to add my two cents about point 4. Naruto initially believed that Sakura was confessing just for the sake of confessing; his immediate reaction was to blush at her comment, but when he started to think through things, he started to become more serious. That's when he started to question her about her intentions. He knew that there was a reason for her approaching him like this all of a sudden, so that's why he calmed down and started to confront her about it. What's funny is that even after Naruto said that he "hates people who lie to to themselves," he didn't outright deny liking Sakura. When she threw it in his face, in an attempt to convince him to return to Konoha, the wording of his response implies that the reason that he rejected her wasn't that he didn't like her anymore, but because of other reasons (i.e. being suspicious of her confession and having to take care of Sasuke).

So, a thought- well, another question, more like- just occurred to me: As we know, Naruto admitted that his reason for being unable to confess to Sakura was that he hadn't been able to make good on his promise, up until now, the implication of which could be that as soon as he makes good on that promise, he'll find himself able to do so. To a certain extent, Sakura effectively released him from it in the Land of Iron, but, on the other, but Naruto clearly doesn't want to move on, nonetheless, until he's rescued Sasuke. Do you guys think that, now, Naruto will want to confess to Sakura, since they're in a more precarious situation? Or do you think that after everything is resolved, he'll finally be able to do it? On that note, if Sasuke dies or something happens to him, would Naruto muster the courage to do so? If Sakura tries approaching him again, would he accept her, especially in the event that something happens to Sasuke?

Err...Sorry for my senseless ramblings and poorly phrased questions.

Lol. One of my friends has been following me on tumblr and she's barely into Naruto. And after seeing the huge amount of NaruSaku moments and fanart on my dash I always reblog in just a few months, she told me that NaruSaku looks really official and she's surprised it's not canon yet.

Another person I follow on Tumblr- Maybe it's the same one?- has pointed out that they ship NaruSaku, even though they don't even follow "Naruto." It's great that people have faith in this pairing, even if they don't know it 100%.  :hehehe:

I think he should die but Kishi can make a happy ending too.So my expectations are low...

Honestly, I don't want to see him die. He's gone through so much and is still suffering from a lot of trauma, from which he hasn't fully recovered and which has caused him to go down a dark and chaotic path. I really hope that he gets a chance to redeem himself. It can make for a good redemptive story, I think, if Kishi executes it well.

Sasuke's not going to die.

I don't think so, either, but I still think it's important to consider the possibility, nonetheless. Kishi can still pull anything and everything.

Okay, question time, y'all: I'm actually doing a post on this for Tumblr- I still have a bunch of things to write for it, and I'm so busy that I don't see myself being able to publish it soon.- but do you guys think NaruSaku is thematically regressive? I'm interested in seeing what you guys think.

Well, Sasuke doesn't believe that Naruto can understand him since he didn't experience what Sasuke did when his clan was butchered. Sasuke thinks that Naruto was lonely from the start, so he doesn't know what loss means. That is why he doesn't listen. But Naruto thinks they are very alike, that he himself could turn out like Sasuke did if only Iruka-sensei didn't show up. Naruto searched very hard for the answer to the cycle of violence that engulfes the shinobi world - the cycle of revenge. He knows that finding an answer is his duty both as a future Hokage and as a friend to Sasuke. Naruto also wants to change the shinobi world (like Sasuke) but his answer is "love" just as Asura's was. This is also their point of similarity. Naruto polished his "solution" through all the second part of this manga. Now his answer is put to the test on a personal level.

Naruto said he can't reach Sasuke with words alone, that they were never able to communicate like that.  Both because Sasuke doesn't believe that Naruto understands him and because Sasuke repeatedly showed that he doesn't think of Naruto as an equal (it is all in 486 or 487). Naruto believes they can and should connect through fists which they did twice (in 485 and at the Valley of the End). Those were the moments when Sasuke actually stood and reflected on Naruto's words. Naruto must prove that he is Sasuke's equal and make Sasuke see him through his fists, only then his words might reach Sasuke. That's what I think. So Sasuke getting physically hurt might be the only way.

That is true. Naruto did say that they'd be able to understand each other through their fists.

VASH DID WHAT

I DON'T REMEMBER THIS

and, no, pls, everything but IchiHime  :argh:

In all fairness, Rukia is a bit spunky like Masaki. I'm an IchiRuki shipper, but I don't mind IchiHime at all.  :chuckle:

Either way, nothing is probably going to be canon in "Bleach."  :pinch:

#579459 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

I actually revisited chapter 485 and a couple next as they give us the best forshadowing of what we're gonna see next. Its the most big forshadowing of Naruto vs Sasuke showdown in the whole manga. Technically all they do is talk about the moments we're facing in this manga right now. I recommend to reread them.

They actually say some shady stuff, Naruto does especially. I mean, he says they will both die if Sasuke doesn't let go of his hatred during the final fight. Still Sakura sees the possibility of a happy ending for EVERYONE on Team 7 in his words.

What I find interesting is that this time, Naruto doesn't even bring death up as a possibility. He states in no uncertain terms that he's going to fight destiny, in effect, by ensuring that they won't end up like the Sage's sons. He anticipated that Sasuke would pull this off, which is why he wasn't surprised, but he's now only thinking about brining about a positive resolution, which, hopefully, doesn't involve their deaths. At least, that's what his wording implied to me.

I believe they just killed SS off, only NH/NS is left.

While I feel bad for making such an extreme statement, I have to say that it was essentially negated when Sasuke stated multiple times that he felt that Sakura was useless and he didn't care whether she died. Of course, he lumped her with Kakashi, but if he felt anything special for her, he wouldn't have made that comment. It had a brief chance when he caught her in Kaguya's alternate dimension, but even the context of that was platonic at best.

#579479 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by TheQueenB on 10 September 2014 - 07:17 PM in Icha Icha NaruSaku

Well, I don't remember Indra and Asura killing each other. Am I wrong? I thought they just waged war against each other putting a burden on the next generations. Naruto might mean that he will finally resolve the issue once and for all. Well, its funny that their deaths would actually be a pretty solid resolution since they both never had kids and that would be the end of their bloodlines.

I'm just speculating though. Overall I agree with you. We all know for sure that both Naruto and Sakura won't die, at least they are okay in two years (in the movie). OR IS THE MOVIE AN ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE?? Nah.

What I was saying is that Sasuke's death might not be off the table completely, but so very unlikely it is even hard to imagine it. (But the possibility of his death might be the reason we don't see concept arts of future Sasuke for The Last movie. They don't want to spoil the tension of the situation either way.)

Still, according to 485, Naruto seems to want to break Sasuke with sheer willpower and physical pressure. To exaust him, to make him feel despair and break his overconfidence. Until Sasuke accepts NAruto as an equal or a superior, he won't listen. In this showdown we will see Naruto actually winning a match against Sasuke for the first time, not just persuading Sasuke to do right. I also think that means that Sakura won't be a part of the fight. If she helped it wouldn't be an equal fight.

I imagine a scene where Sasuke takes Sakura hostage in an act of desperation. That would be too low even for Sasuke. He might destroy his own moral by this action itself. And then Naruto would tell something like ("remeber who you are" - high five for the Lion King reference) and Sasuke will let Sakura go and crumble.

When you say the part I bolded, you mean to get through to him, right? Naruto knows that Sasuke has been going through a lot and has been pushed down a path of darkness, but it seems that he wants to try to convince him otherwise and help him out. He doesn't want to see Sasuke get hurt and wants to do whatever he can to save him from himself.

I actually think Sasuke taking Sakura hostage might be possible. He wants to do whatever he can to get his way, so if that's a way to get to Naruto, then so be it. It'll be interesting, either way I think. And really angsty.

#580371 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by TheQueenB on 12 September 2014 - 01:32 AM in Icha Icha NaruSaku

I got a new topic:

Remember how Kushina talked to Naruto about love? I was so sure that NaruSaku was canon after that. But she also said to not fall for the first girl. Is this a way of confirming NH? I've been kinda scared about that for a while. As we all know Sakura is Naruto's first love. As we can tell from recent chapters, Naruto is taking his mother's advice to heart. What are your thoughts on this?

I'm pretty sure that the bit of not falling for the first girl was established by Viz, about which many of our fellow shippers are crying foul, because it doesn't actually match what was originally written. Without going into too many details about it, such that it enters controversial territory, that implicitly could be taken as evidence for NH. However, the correct statement is that Kushina wants Naruto to find a girl like her, which, I believe, Naruto confirmed in last week's chapter, based on how he addressed it. Moreover, Minato also mentioned that Sakura was a lot like Kushina. I believe, thus, that these moments also confirm that finding a girl like Kushina is truly Kishi's intent.

Nahh a lot of people have been saying that. XD The scarf that's supposed seem like Hinata's red thread of fate ripped in half in the trailer:

tumblr_inline_nebttcb0L21s6s9ju.png

so that could very well mean that her and Naruto weren't meant to be (fate) if she put her feelings into that scarf. I reallyy doubt this movie will focus only Hinata's feelings. Marketing tells us one thing, Kishi's sketches tell us another. Like we barely have anything on Toneri and nothing on the other rookies? O_o The marketing honestly makes me more confident about this movie tbh. Maybe Kishi will use this movie as a way to try to touch on everyone's love life since it's about love. I need some Shikatema and Sai x Ino in this movie :argh:

Lol Kishi's sketch on Hinata was released last right? Along with Hanabi? Heh, you'd think if she was going to be with Naruto majority of the movie, she'd be released with Naruto's sketch. Sakura was released with Naruto I think. Sasuke and Kakashi's sketches were released recently, but they probably won't make that many appearances in the movie..

Mhhm. I won't fall for their bull :fu:

So, the scarf does really get ripped? That actually doesn't bode well for them, then. I have to wonder why Naruto is wearing the sketch in the promotional stuff, though. Is it really just marketing, or are they trying to say that it will work out, in the end?

IDK. This all makes sense, but I'm still a bit skeptical, given everything... :\

of course they're covering up because it's not just sakura that they're hiding, but also other characters too. sakura is listed as the second lead, yet look at how they're promoting hinata. it's way too obvious at this point.

Unless they're both supposed to realize their romantic arcs in parallel and they actually won't have anything to do with one another, beyond just being on the same team.  Great, now I'm depressed again.

Was the marketing for RtN this bad, by any chance? I mean, I know how much it misled people, but how does it compare?

the marketing for the merchandise is pretty funny. they're shoving hinata and nh down our throat, and we still have yet to see any naruto --> hinata. lol this is way too good to be true.

I want to know what happened to releasing/marketing Naruto and Sakura together. So much about them was released at the same time, and it seemed to have been very common with their characters in the past.

Also, we still have no knowledge about Sakura's role in the film, although she's obviously involved in such an important part of the plot. Maybe this could work in our favor?

Hey, guys! It's been a while! I hope everyone has been doing well, despite... you know.

Umm... I've just checked in to help and support Chatte, in anyway that I can (She already knows I've got her back, though. LOL.).

Anyway, hope all is going well, and good job on all the hard work! :D

Also, does anyone know what has come out of the news/press that was due to have been released today (Monday)?

Kinda late here, but if I don't fall asleep I am gonna continue writing the theory although I should be sleeping, lol.

I really hope that you can rest well after all this! (Hell, get some rest now! There's no hurry.) You absolutely deserve it. <3

And the tumblr poster says that apparently NH and SS are getting more popular in Japan? Reliable...?

Oh.. looks like the leaked movie sketches for Sasuke are legit. Though those ones looked legit anyways. It says NH & SS are getting more popular in Japan? LOL WHERE? :lmao:I think that's just their opinion aha

Sasuke is taller than Naruto XD

Well, the comments about popularity aside, I'm really interested in what the material in the post is saying.

I guess increasing popularity makes sense, though, because of the ending. At the very least, more people would be discussing it, you know?
