I also saw this on Twitter, and it brings up a valid point about why Boruto as a series sucks in terms of being a sequel.

No Bryon, MHA didn't suffer the same fate as Naruto. The only reason why people assumed that because shipping fans were pissed off of the fact that Izuku didn't hook up with Ochaco (by ignoring hints, placements and BTS stuff on the reasons why they didn't happen) and the finale parts were rushed for "certain reasons that were beyond Horikoshi's control". MHA's saving grace was the themes of its story was still in place, unlike Naruto's.

I know, I just meant in being rushed is all I meant, Derock. Not in anything else, but it looks like the tankubon is gonna fix that!

#991321 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by Bryon_Konoha_Ninja on 08 September 2024 - 09:22 PM in Icha Icha NaruSaku

What's funny is that all of it could have been fixed so damn easily. We know Kishi kept getting bugged by the Hinata fans who kept telling him what he should do with Hinata even if he didn't get why so many liked her. I have said this, but if I were in Kishi's spot, this would be before Pain, and I was told again and again to have Hinata do something to take the spotlight from Sakura.

I would have told my editors I would give Hinata a big moment. Her death at Pain's hands outside of the range, so she isn't coming back. It would be a way that shut up the ones who all pushed for Hinata, who kept bothering to push her into the light.

Then, with Sakura. She, Shikamaru, and Neji would all fight to save Naruto.

I would have it so that as the two keep Pain away, Sakura would free Naruto, saying she believes him and how much Naruto has helped her grow and she wants to be by his side when he becomes Hokage, sadly before she could remove the last rod Pain will use his pull and stab her in the stomach that way we would still get the Minato part.

Great idea! At least we know too with Sakura, she GENUINELY did believe in Naruto, which is why she respected his wishes no on else get involved while he fought Nagato/Pain.

And that is why I treat the entire franchise as a joke. You are either invested in a character whose presence and importance to the plot was never there to begin with and flog that importance over the head of everyone else until they comply/give up on the story all together, OR you are treated as an idiot for not seeing how important Hinata Hyuga-chan-megami-hime-sama was to get everything she wanted and was Naruto's stealth "true love" and were too blind to see it. You lose either way, and wonder why you bothered with it. You were either reading for a side character that never mattered or you were one of the many many MANY long time fans that got screwed over investing your time on the series BECAUSE said irrelevant side character had to be catered to. It felt like a waste of time in the grand scheme of things because you were cheated out of a proper resolution to a story you WERE passionate about, or you now find out Hinata's love never meant anything, and she only got together with Naruto because OF PITY and not because of genuine love. Hinata got the man of her dreams because she never gave up? I thought the idea was "they were always in love..." So I'm just laughing at the whole thing. READING COMPREHENSION AT IT'S FINEST FOLKS :lmao:

And it's SO bad because of how other manga after Naruto ended are being seeing like that too! MHA had that same issue with its finale.

#991309 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by Bryon_Konoha_Ninja on 25 August 2024 - 03:52 PM in Icha Icha NaruSaku

This is not a new statement. Kishimoto has been saying stuff like this since the ending. This was always his justification for it happening beyond "she is popular and what the fans want while Sakura wasn't."

SP saw Hinata as the perfect woman that deserved Naruto as she deserved to be the heroine of the story. So, they wrote the Last to show that their Princess-Goddess Hinata-Hime-sama was the most perfect woman that was entitled to Naruto. He was her prize for being so perfect.

Kishimoto never got the appeal of Hinata. She wasn't his type and the people pushing her onto him would never explained to him why she should be the heroine other than she more popular than Sakura, she is prettier than her, fans like her, and she liked Naruto the longest so deserved him. Because the real answer is they love her absolute devotion, submissiveness, and no effort to obtain her. So, he needed his own reason for why Hinata should end up with Naruto? After, SP's staff pressured him to kill off Neji (the real character that was in the way of nH happening) her original storyline died with him. Leaving only her affection for Naruto. He saw that as pathetic and pitied her so agreed to put them together.

SP saw Hinata as perfect, Kishimoto saw her as pathetic. These views clash and helped make the mess that was the ending.

SP had nH's wedding be the end of the anime therefor the goal of Naruto all along was really to get together with Hinata instead of becoming Hokage and changing the ninja system's problems surpassing all those that previously held the title. The Last was to show how perfect she was and that she deserved a perfect life.

Kishimoto at the ending only had them together in front of Neji's grave implying Naruto was getting together with her to honor his sacrifice. And the relationship was set up by him which showed Naruto who focused on his job as Hokage was as distant to Hinata as Sasuke was to Sakura. The Sasuke that went out of his way to avoid Sakura for 12 years. Which is why both kids have daddy issues.

SS is still only happened because once Sakura lost her status as the Heroine he needed to put her somewhere and SS was popular with some fans; and nothing deeper than that because he dislikes the pairing. nH was the one he needed to be convinced to happened and once he was SS followed just to put Sakura somewhere.

Damn! Bail with the epic mike drop!

That's awesome! I figure with anniversaries, nostalgia, and the collective love of reboots, it's only a matter of time before they start dipping back into the original series for more $$$!

I'm right with you on that, Tricksie!

Looks like she found the true Tenseigan that Toneri was talking about.

The movie was in limbo and may have moved out of it, only due to One Piece.

A big problem with the appeal of Naruto is something antithetical to Modern Hollywood. Naruto strives towards his dream trying to move pass his sad past, Hollywood wants their character to obsess over their oppression as they think that makes their characters deep.

I just worry about anything Naruto related given the state the franchise is in, because too often, it's just gonna suck!

YEEEAAAH, Knocking down and blowing up an essential part of Naruto's character (the POAL) obviously wasn't gonna backfire.  :zaru:  :lmao: You either completely undermine Naruto's understanding of love and make him a self serving hypocritical douchebag or you accept Hinata was a pity prize. One contradicts the other.

And you won't make Sakura seem like she's a manipulative beeyotch using what she knows to get what SHE wants.... :zaru: :lmao: </sarcasm>

#990686 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by Bryon_Konoha_Ninja on 17 October 2023 - 10:55 PM in Icha Icha NaruSaku

With all the craziness that we had  to deal with regarding the NH and SS fans (and still do, with less intensity), we can easily forget that they are NH and SS fans out there that are chill and can see reasons.

Some fans can enjoy the idea outside the canon reality (like fanfiction) and hate the canon, some can accept that the writing was kitten but accept the rest and some, while not agreeing with everything, can admit that NS (with SK) was the most logical pairing(s) that would affect the story a lot better for the majority of the main characters and also, would have a much better flow with the story in general.

I have a friend that was shipping NH and I told her, read the integrality of the manga vs watching the anime and you know what, she did and said that it did make a lot more senses to have NS as canon and understood now a lot better my points. She even said that while she was no longer a fan of the serie, that with all what she compared, she would have probably change from NH to NS for sure.

Hell, when starting watching the anime, I was a NH shipper (not an hardcore one tho just enjoyed it a little) but as soon as I started reading the manga, I switched instantly on NS. With that point in mind, I totally get why, only anime fans (mostly the westerns fans), ship hard NH because right from the very beginning (at least, with the fillers episodes between the first part and shippuden), SP was bias with Hinata.

Too bad not many people can be like your friend in terms of the shipping side of things.

Question, what was wrong with Sakura falling in love with Naruto? What was wrong with her changing her feelings?

Nothing. People just wanted her out of the way because they assumed Hinata "deserved" Naruto.

#990679 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

I do think many of them are now growing up and finding out what real kittening relationships are like. They are nothing like SS or NH and as we have tried telling them over the years how bad both pairings are and how they make no sense.

For the female fans who desperately wanted a dark prince to save and heal aka SS they are reaching the age which they can now see Sasuke was a prick who Sakura shouldnt have gave a kitten about after all the crap he did to her.

The NH fans are learning as they get older Hinata has nothing but being a yes girl for Naruto.

I do think many will still say SS and NH were the greatest thing to ever happen in the Manga, but as the readers get older many will start to change their views. Do you think when they reach 40 and have children and see how they act they will still think NH and SS are all that amazing? I dont think they will I think they will look back at this and know how stupid they were for think this.

Not all mind you we know many will always simp over Hinata and Sasuke thinking they were done perfectly.

Sorry for any mistakes I did this on my phone.

Nicely said! And it is true, as well as it showing how the people in Studio Pierrot seem to not grt how real relationships work if they had to mess with something good like what Kishimoto was cooking with NS and even SK.

Well I can't say  that indicates what the fandom generally feels but that is nice to hear at least. doubly so if it some sort of former NH fan

I agree, Phantom.

The biggest factor comes from the death of Kenji Kishimoto (Masashi's father) early in 2014, and honestly a 3 month break at least could've been more than enough to give him more than enough time to properly flesh out at the very least the last 3 & a half volumes.

Regardless of who was canon at the end ->  that to me is irrelevant in this conversation personally.

I'm more so referring to that it would've given Masashi proper time to grieve, but also give him the chance to think of Madara could've been taken out in a satisfying way at the very least by the end of Volume 70.  Then the last 20 chapters in my opinion could've easily been dedicated to The Naruto vs Sasuke fight, and have a great conclusive ending.

This might just be me, but  I do like that the final page of the series was this:

I know what you mean. If he took a break, it'd ease his heart and mind. It shows the sad reality of the manga industry at times.

Also, the final page of Chapter 700 is also a nice parallel to the mural drawing of Minato when he sealed Kurama into Naruto to stop his Obito-induced rampage.

Kishimoto ultimately was playing Yes man to the authorities that were gaslighting him saying what a great heroine Hinata was and that she was more popular than Sakura because she is a submissive housewife type of girl that Naruto deserves and even go as far as to say that she is popular in the west because of a few youtuber otaku wannabes (I don't need to list them because everybody here knows whom I'm talking about, but feel free to input their names if you wish). Obviously they DID NOT do their research because they were ultimately hearing what they WANTED to hear and so that validated their personal views of Hinata too, ending with them pushing and pushing until Kishi said yes and it was because he just did not want to deal with the stress of it all anymore. He was finally hit with the consequences of writing manga consuming his life when his father passed away so he just caved in and thought he was giving the fans what they wanted because it was what all his editors ever since Yahagi left as his editor to be editor in chief for Jump Square, were telling him. "Hinata Hyuga is the greatest s** doll wife for Naruto and Sakura Haruno is a ball busting, emasculating she-devil that shouldn't deprive Hinata of her happiness and should get it on with her abusive neglectful crush." You can tell of of this is true because the writing in the movie doesn't add up, since it wasn't Kishi writing it. It wasn't even anyone familiar with Naruto from what I remember, as it contradicted Chapter 1/ episode1 of all things in the franchise. And well, here we are.

Doesn't help that Kishi was dealing with depression due to his dad dying, which doesn't help either with what Studio Pierrot and his editor at the time did with telling him all those falsehoods about Hinata, and how he was ready to call it quits as is. Which is what sucks BIG TIME.

Huh.
