Even NH has some development preceding it's one recent moment to help build a proper foundation. InoKiba has practically no prior development.

I'm not sure you should hold such low expectations of Hinata's character. Also, given the current interactions between Hiashi and Hinata (i.e. the former explaining the latter's role in changing customs within the Hyuuga clan during his fight with Edo-Hizashi, along with Hiashi observing and making remarks about Hinata's performance in the current battle), I'm pretty sure all signs point to Hiashi finally acknowledging Hinata as his heir and successor.

And just FYI, I totally agree that Karin is a strong character - much stronger than most other females in the manga. But that does not change the disaster it creates when she goes crazy over a guy. Yes, she is exactly like Hinata or part 1 Sakura in that aspect. Maybe even worse. I'd like to think that Hinata would ditch Naruto if he did all that Sasuke has done. Apparently that isn't true for Karin. We can't just ignore this crap because we have our shipper goggles on and d'aww every time we see her speak to the object of her apparent affections. Again, Kishimoto better have a REALLY good explanation for this because he has created a gaping potential thematic hole here.

Certainty that it will become canon: 9.5/10
Hundreds of chapters of development, a slew of obvious parallels, and even a movie directed by the author that puts focus on the pairing while also reinforcing one of those parallels? This is even more obvious than Tobito.

Certainty that it will be done well: 6/10
I'm not sure what Kishi can do at this point to pull it off in a satisfying way, given his recent track record.

lol...i don't know. the more I think about it, the more I realize neither Sakura nor NS are worth getting worked up about anymore...it's just too much stress that ruins your overall enjoyment of the series.

When you force yourself into a certain mindset for a quite the amount of time, you start seeing the merits of that perspective.
It doesn't help that I never completely abandoned the NH ship in the first place, like I said before.
Nor does it help that everything I said against Sakura & this forum were true (if harsher than normal) expressions of my opinion.

Well it's not hard to have standards when your target audience is middle school boys who are still learning about story plot design and elements in writing courses.

Nothing to worry about for now and the sakura Sasuke interaction will happen again, but so will naruto and sakura. It's at this point, I'm tempted to take a break from the manga, focus on the dubs they recently released and wait till rtn gets the Japanese dub. Also could use this time to catch up with fairy tail. Things can still be good in the story, but I'm temped to skip a few weeks and come back after a few chapters piled up. But there is no question about it, best development to end with sakura is her going to naruto, it's because we have seen it in the majority of the story between both of them.

Just take satisfaction in that we knew Sasuke would do something with the hokage story, it's not as bad as what I have seen in bleach, Ichigo and ishida are basically cousins.

Speaking of other series, which of the following would you guys recommend to start watching while on break from Naruto?
