Which makes me laugh more and more saying: "If you made NS canon, you could have avoided all of this. Yeah, the NH fans would be upset, but everyone else would actually say "Yeah this is Naruto" and accept the ending as truth. Even if people may have hated what couples ended up, they couldn't downright deny there wasn't anything to support it. Here, people are calling bull left and right saying "you basically just change everything just to suit a pairing choice. What a crappy ending."
exactly. They would have gotten over it. Hell the last movie would have likely been a better movie considering it wouldn't be so damn cheesy and we wouldn't have to recollect a lot of the kitten that didn't happen in the manga because it would all be canon with NS. Imagine the bench scene being used as a scene that tied NS together. The actual beginning for NS and not some cheesy ass flashback that didn't even happen at all. i also find it absolutely hilarious how NH fans are basically fine with all of this. Just proves that in their eyes quality means jackkitten. Theyll take whatever Kishi throws as long as NH is endgame.

Kishimoto kind of lost, but that doesn't mean we won.
I really don't want to rain on anyones parade, but really, no matter what Kishimoto will say, it doesn't change what has happened. A lost war is a lost war, no matter the circumstences of how it ended. The difference between a white flag and the battle till the last man fell only changes how the war itself is looked upon.
The damage is done.
Even if they decide to make a NaruSaku ending because the sales were so bad or Kishimoto get's on his knees begging for us to listen that he always wanted NS and was forced by those bad bad people to make NH, it won't undo the movie and the real ending. It's the same crap that JK did with Harry Potter. The Story was done, written and sold. End of it. They failed, and no matter how much they try to justify or repair it, the trust broken by the fans will never be undone. I for example will never in my life watch another creation of this man, and the story can be told 1000x better than Naruto.
I wouldn't care.
The mere that he was okay with calling this couple the red herring. Okay with having Sakura downplay the feelings Naruto had for her in the movie? Okay with allowing this movie to pretty much erase the bond that NS had in general and give the heroine title to a side character speaks volumes. All trust is lost and those who feel chested in Japan with this movie, I hope they're done with this crappy author also.

That makes me sad because his interactions with Sakura was one of the best parts of his character. There was so much to the dynamics of their relationship that it just made it great. Sadly, Kishi would have us believe it was all fake and I'm not buying his BS.
oh not at all. I just find it hard to believe people still like Naruto as a person considering if you throw those interviews into the equation he played with Sakura's feelings overall and was selfish. Just proves many NH fans were only interested in Hinata and now that she has the guy they don't care. Quality doesn't matter. It mattered to us and we had a lot of quality throughout the manga but then this happened. I can't look at this story the same and I don't trust Kishi at all. He couldn't want Sakura to be happy like he claims...

Sorry for late information but
Did the movie show how Naruto drops his feelings for Sakura?
What are the opinions of Japanese fans of the movie?
Give me the overall breakdown of this movie.
according to the movie, he never really liked her as much as we thought. Clearly we were delusional. Lol

That's what really strikes me, is that for all of his supposed lack of romance skills NS is incredibly well-written. It even acts as a counterbalance towards SasuSaku's abuse. But it also concerns her character. Sakura's a girl growing into a woman who despite what many fans think has a serious inferiority complex. It seemed like she was starting to come out of it, hell she cussed out Sasuke in th LOI arc and later punched a Shinobi goddess silencing the haters who said she was useless. But then 693 came and murdered all her development.
I'll defend NS and pre-693 Sakura but I'm done with this series. Sure they're just characters and the story is for entertainment but it's more than that. Each character is a device representing different ideas. Naruto used to represent never giving up, respect for all individuals, supporting your friends, and love in the form of selflessness and sacrifice. Sakura pre-693 represented maturing, learning self-respect and pride, understanding that just because you live in a man's world doesn't mean that you have to live by its rules that irregardless of gender you should take pride in yourself and demand respect.
But after 693 are we supposed to support abuse, lack of accountability, lack of mutual respect, and abandonment which is what SasuSaku represents? Are we supposed to support relationships built on the premise of bust size, lack of development and understanding between two characters represented by NH?
Are we supposed to support giving up on your dreams and settling down represented by Sakura, Hinata, and several other characters based on their endings? Hinata gave up being clan head, Sakura gave up being a medic ninja, and Naruto gave up on Sakura.
No thank you. Let them call us Salty, and Butthurt, and everything else. If being "salty" means calling out the support of pathetic ideals such as abuse, lack of accountability, and giving up on one's dreams than go ahead, let them call us whatever they want to.
couldn't have said it better Shadow. For someone who happen about writing romance so badly, he actually developed NS quite well and made it the most realistic pairing throughout the series. It was solid, bumpy and yet fulfilling. He went with rainbows and butterflies though. I'll pass.

He's contradicting himself left and right. Some people think that it's PR telling him what to say, but who knows at this point. Regardless, I'm never going to be able to think of him or his work the same way again.
I've heard that Magi is really interesting. I'll check it out once my finals are over!
Not at all. He definitely lost a fan and what's crazy is how good NS was throughout the course of the manga. He really had something great now it seems like they're world's apart. Lol
its funny because Magi is written by a woman. I was surprised how much I got into it. No wasted pages and the story itself is grand. The main characters are likeable and you're gonna love the main female I'm sure. I'm not gonna spoil though. Let me know when you start reading and be sure to put it on your to do list.

Salty is the NH/SS fandoms' new favorite word, with "butthurt" as a close second. They keep telling the NaruSaku fandom on tumblr that they read the manga wrong. Please. As if anyone could have foreseen this kitten stack. Some NS fans are still planning on watching it. I don't know why they want to torture themselves, but they're free to do as they wish. I'll be following your example and keep my distance from it. I don't care to see a movie that destroys everything I loved about the characters.
Exactly. I dont even watch the anime anymore to be honest. i laugh at the NH/SS fandom because they take whatever Kishi feeds them. Even if it isnt worth much. The interviews are crap. First you considered NS at a point and then it was a red herring all the way through? Naruto didnt fall for Hinata until this movie so that means he still liked Sakura throughout the war im guessing and with that said it wasnt given proper closure. I cant with this guy.
On the other hand, I've been reading Magi and I LOVE IT. You should check it out and tell me what you think. :) we need a new manga to discuss. Lol

This movie has been targeted to NaruHina and SasuSaku fans while isolating the rest of the fandom that doesn't support those ships or enjoyed Naruto for more than pairings. I don't know why he thought that was a good idea. I don't think it will be a flop, but I don't think it's going to bring in as much as they are expecting. Those who care about that kind of stuff will have to wait and see, but I'm not planning on sticking around this series long enough to find out.
it may not flop but it won't do as good as RtN trying I'm betting and you're right. He made this a damn love story. The overall focus is NH. That alone is gonna push a large margin away. SS isn't really in the movie I hear and so I'm sure those fans aren't really interested. Hinata is a main character and damsel. I got called salty because I'm not interested. What do I look like watching a movie about a pairing I care nothing about. And it's seemingly ridiculously sappy. I'll pass and yeah i won't stick around for it either. At this point all I do is laugh at Kishi trying to save face. Trying to bury NS and doing a horrible job at it. It's just one huge laughfest

to even think about calling NS a red herring is stupid cause to pull that off another pairing has to have proper development and that clearly not the case.
EXACTLY. No other pairing had proper development and going off of what he said, Naruto didn't even consider Hinata after all of the stuff she did. It wasn't until after that timeskip and all of the magical flashbacks came about where Naruto and Hinata interacted. I love it. Lol

I'm disappointed for having believed in him for such a long time. It turns out that he was pulling us by our noses. Whatever. I'm at the point now where all I can do is laugh.
I'm so amused and I'm hearing people are disappointed. Of course there are people who don't care how NH happened as long as it happened. They get a movie to actually START their pairing. Should have happened in the manga if you ask me or at least developed but nope. Now he's trying to downplay NS and call it a red herring? Like really and if you wanna continue the series, this isn't a smart move. I hope it all flops because to say that to the pairing you've been pushing for so long is just wrong. It's cruel and he can kick rocks.

The Bolt movie confirms that it really was all about the money. Kishimoto and Studio Pierrot never intended to give Naruto a proper ending, because ending the series means ending profits. I feel cheated.
It's funny how we finally see Kishi for who he really is... he's a sellout and I hope his continued does poorly. I'm not even interested in his story anymore. Especially after his crappy interviews.

One of the things I don't get is why does he keep talking? Why do his handlers let him keep talking? All he does is shoot his own foot off.
that's the one thing I've been wondering since the first interview. There's no way to save what he has done and yet he continues to try anyway. They need to tell him to keep his trap shut. i dont know whats going through his head.

Soo.....In other words, he spent the whole manga developing the romance subplot for purpose of jerking with his fanbase and did so to such an extent that he couldn't develop anything else. So, he spent far more time with his red herring that his true pairing, again, to the extent that he needs a seperate movie to fill in enormous gaps (and outright retcons) that could have easily been dealt with in the manga and that according to him and his editors he had YEARS to do this, but simply failed? Thus, he spent more time screwing with his fandom than doing what he should have been doing: developing his primary pairing?Look, I understand wanting to tweak an over serious fandom. I'd do it, but this isn't tweaking. It's pure negligence to spend more time and effort on your red herring to the point where you are actively neglecting what you claim to be doing.I can't tell if is he dim (didn't see what he was doing), a liar (just saying this to make it look like the end wasn't a giant asspule), or simply a giant a**hole.
Gotta love how Kishi works! Lol this manga has dropped several notches if we take these interviews into consideration.

Not that I've seen, Tricks, but I hope we get one soon... all of this is just SCARING so many of us!
I'm AMUSED. Trying to save face is the ultimate payback because these idiotic interviews aren't doing him any favors. He's causing more harm than anything else. He'd had been better off shutting his mouth but nope, let's continue to downplay the NS development entirely. I mean, in the end, I'd have to ask what the hell NS means to him?? clearly kitten if hes willing to spit in the faces of his own creations for a few extra dollars. In the process hes ruining his creation. I hope the payout is worth it...
