Hashi and Madara's relationship is so much better than Naruto and Sasuke's. It makes no sense to me that Kishi can write things like that and screw up with the main bond in his manga.
Also Itama's death was more emotional than Neji's death, poor boy gangbanged by 5 Uchiha.
I really enjoy this flashback it feels more real than the actual story. I won't mind if this flashback lasts a long time.

Actually, I think Kid!Madara is closer to Obito than Sasuke. Even their faces are similar. Perhaps Obito's blood is the most strongly related blood out of the Uchiha. Hell, if I think about it, Hashirama is probably a lot like Kakashi. If Kakashi and Obito ever made up, their relationship would probably be most similar to this. Kakashi constantly guilt-tripping himself about his past, Obito always yelling out at him for it.

Nah i dont think so they cant be a carbon copy, Hashirama had a will for peace, also as Madara, the only things that reminded me of Ino/sakura was the part that Tobirama protected Hashirama.
Looks like Madara also was good like Naruto ofc is not a carbon copy but looks like he had his own downfall, about Hashirama he was intelligent and smart but naive.

You know, Obito plan isn't sounding so bad anymore, maybe the shinobi world have no fixing after all.

....okay...if that isn't an oversimplification
No, they go on boring D or C rank missions with an experienced JOUNIN where the greatest dangers are random bandits (I mean Team 7's Wave mission was a misclassified A-rank ). And they don't get sent to die at 7 years old.
In times of war I guess like in Kakashi's era, they do end up sending younger kids out. But even Kakashi was 13, Obito and Rin 15 if I'm not wrong, which is way better than poor Kawarama. And the impression I get is that before the era of shinobi villages it was CONSTANT warfare. The ninja villages reduced it by allowing the ninja clans to band together and honestly giving them more leverage against all the feudal lords who were using them for their battles.

Actually, no. Back then Hashirama's generation was living in hell. But what Hashirama did to fix it (or at least make it better) was to make sure that no one under the age of 13 would be plunged into the front lines. Also, if anyone as young as 13 and under has to be deployed, they would be supervised by Jounins. And at most, these kids would be doing support. We saw it in Kakashi Gaiden where Team Minato was given the mission of going behind the enemies and take out their supply route.
It's still dangerous as Kakashi was only a rookie Jounin and the other two were only chuunin, but it's a hell lot better than Hashirama's era. Hell, I doubt Hiruzen would've been callous enough to send them on such a dangerous mission without being sure they had a chance of surviving. He knew for a fact Minato can be at their side in an instant once he was done mowing down the enemies. Once Minato returned, the kids would be safe. It was a gamble, but it was a hell lot better than sending them on the front lines where they had smaller chances of surviving.
Not only that, Hashirama seemed to have stressed the importance of the adults protecting the children fighting with them at all costs. This is likely the basis of a Jounin sensei's duties and responsibilities.
Besides, I don't see Konohamaru and his team anywhere in this war, do you?? that's what Hashirama had changed from his time.
@fireandice: I couldn't agree more.

Madara said he had 4 brothers and all of them were dead.
How could he get his brother eyes if their brothers were already dead long time ago?
when he was still a kid?

Lol at hashirama the PG rating.
Actually the one who invent the grade system and academy ninja is tobirama.
Maybe he is the one who create that "ninja should not allowed to show emotion".
And I think he is sarutobi teacher.

The way I see it, Hashirama provided the basic premise, and asked Tobirama to fulfill it on his deathbed when he passed on his position.

he did. it's explained in databook. Tobirama modernized the village by building the ninja accademy, create the missions, instucted ranks (genin, chuunin and jounin).

It can also be thought that at this time, the main employee soldiers on the continent were the Samurai which is why in one chapter Hanzo told Mifune that why do you think the lands switched from Samurai academy and incorporated Ninja villages?
Anyways yeah it was after enough fighting Hashirama and Madara joined to make the leaf village. Soon the other nations followed.
It was a sad chapter because they both felt terrible with having lost their own brothers. It was kinda like how bad living conditions back then had people to gain larger families for the possibly of one surviving. Its interesting to see where this will go. Considering the Uzimaki clan was their distant blood relative cousin, I can imagine in this flashback seeing Mito and they put forward an alliance to deal with the Uchiha. We really need to see where this all leads, it is a good flashback for once.
