Sorry. I didn't even wind up keeping Fred Davis because Nate dropped Olsen who was more of a known quantity.

But I kinda think that you deserved it for saving up all your points to use against me. You couldn't even manage half of last week's total against Nate?

I was starting Dalton because I had so little faith in the consistency of Matt Ryan who then ends up outscoring Dalton, meaning he is due for a stinker this week.

Congratulations!

It will be interesting. Especially since it's the bye week for Tom Brady, Fred Jackson and Vernon Davis, plus my #2 back, LaGarrettte Blount is injured. Let's see how my receivers can do with just scrubs as their supporting cast.

I have every QB not named Matt Ryan out, my D (who has been my best player the two weeks) is out, and my second best player (Gore) is out. Matt Ryan tends to stink when I start him and he is on the road in Detroit.

I had thought about taking both of those QBs after trading Flacco away, but checking up on their bye weeks quickly killed that idea. I hope that you're right about Ryan. I don't have quite the same faith (or lack thereof) in him so I'm probably starting the Chicago defense.

I hope I'm not, but that's been the trend so far. After that, I got, well....a bunch of 2's and 3's. My only real stud right now is Gore (and I say thing knowing I said he sucked three weeks ago, way to prove me wrong, keep doing it) and he's out.

I kinda know how you feel. I had Matt Ryan as my qb last year after I finally gave up on Favre (and would've won my first game if I'd used him then) and found him similarly inconsistent in points. I wound up platooning him and Jason Campbell. But I think he's a very good QB and was pretty high on him this year. I think I had him pegged as the #10 QB.

Buress and Jones were two incredible busts. Well, mostly Jones, its hard to get good receiving stats when your QB is Mark Sanchez. Sheesh.

Week 6 Quick Recap

KellersFrostedFlakes 87.05 (3-3)
Zatties! 97.55 (4-2)

-Z rides Stafford, Run-DMC, and the Packers D to a win. The Commish had a small chance to pull it out Monday Night, but the scattershot arm of Sanchez said otherwise.

Gama Warriors 68.00 (2-4)
One Hit Wonders 107.20 (1-5)

-Told ya, dood. Frank Gore definitely held up his end of the bargain.

Leatherbacks 123.15 (5-1)
Reavers! 112.15 (2-4)

-Insurrection hung tough; the offensive players on both sides pretty much evened out. But... oh Minnesota. That offense.

Tokyo Raiders 74.75 (1-5)
All we do is lose 104.00 (5-1)

-AARON RODGERS.
/drops mic

The Wulfpack 76.95 (3-3)
Ellicott Thundercats 90.50 (3-3)

-A lineup of steady (but unexciting) performances on True's side gets him the win. Only three of his players did hit double digits, yet his highest scorer got 16.30 points.

Sparky McRandomsons 99.65 (3-3)
The Golden Thumbs 123.75 (4-2)

-Oh Minnesota, Part Two: The Defensening. Didn't you used to be a good team? The Sunday Night game took what little hope I had for a comeback and ground it into paste. I hear it mixes well with my tears of sadness and the lamentations of my women.

This week's pick record: 4-2
Overall pick record: 21-9

BCS Playoff Standings will start appearing after Week Seven's games.

I wouldn't undersell Finley against the Vikes. EJ Henderson is a liability in coverage and I'm not sure who they have to cover him. Maybe Greenway? I figure that my best chance of Minnesota limiting him in points is that they're likely to be leaving other receivers wide open as well. Ugh.

Oh, and I didn't see a truly "deserving winner" for Week 6's Kick to the Groin Award so I haven't given it out. If someone has a case to make to getting it (or for someone else to get it), they may do so.

I definitely take back what I said about Gore. He was pretty bad the first three weeks, but at some point decided to up his play. Now he's the closest thing to a fantasy beast I have this year. Overall, easily my best player. Now if only Greene can follow suit, I need him to perform without Gore this week. He's been okay...just not great and not worthy of an early round selection.

Nick, I'm thinking my best hopes are really going to be either Finley or Nelson (depending on who Rodgers prefers) or Dez Bryant against the weak Rams secondary. Looking at the line-up you're favored, but's it's a crap shoot with only Johnson and Wallace being sures things throughout either line-up. I need Stafford to forget Johnson is on the field or for the Falcons to, you know...play some good D for four quaters.

Wallace is against the Cardinals...I'm hoping they run it all day long (I have Mendenhall in another league...and totally concur in his disappointment over that pick so far).

Yeah, it's a real toss-up.

The Green Bay game is problematic for me because if Finley isn't getting the ball, it's probably because Rodgers is throwing it to Nelson or Jennings and I'll just have to hope for the latter. But I really think that they should feed Grant the ball and grind some time off the clock against Minnesota. wink.gif

And for CJ, if he's doing well, it probably means that Atlanta is going to have to try to score a lot to match so Ryan could get good numbers. I'm hoping that the defensive line can fluster him into a few sack-fumbles. I'm not too confident of that though and I'm still wavering on whether to start them against Atlanta.

I think that I'd give myself a slight edge (like the 3 points that Yahoo is giving) because CJ and Wallace have been so consistent for me, but it's nervy.

Colt Mccoy and Matt Ryan might decide it. Nicks running backs look weak, so does nate's though Deangelo has been productive. Which is more than I can say for him in his last like 10 games. Its a shame Gore is on bye.

That doesn't make me feel good at all. Matt Ryan on the road against 5-1 Detriot. At least Colt is playing Seattle. Nick, I need your guy and Tavaris just to trade INT's all day since I have the Cleveland D. If the D does really well it means Colt getting the ball more. Although, don't you have Seattle's D...

Well, this ought to be fun, then.

So...everyone on Cleveland needs to do well, except Colt McCoy.

Sorry, Dood.

My D needs points.

EDIT: Oh, Lord, I just check my week 8 byes. It's going to be a brutal week. At least fives guys with a bye (Finley, Nelson, Greene, Ryan, Janikowski). Free win for Insurrection who has one starter on a bye.

I'm going to need like 5 touchdowns from Gore.

EDIT: Good news, dood. I picked up the Tampa D. Now I'm cheering for your Seahawks to kick Cleveland's butts. And I got Nick's D wrong. He has Chicago. I need for them to suck since I have Barth and Tampa D. Janikowski is down. Damn, now Nick's favored by seven.

Always good to see a convert, dood.

Now to see about some coffee.

Jwolf0's Wildly Inaccurate Week 7 Picks!

Kellers Frosted Flakes (Mik3) vs. Tokyo Raiders (roninmedia)
-Kellers Frosted Flakes favored by ~7

I'm starting with an upset pick here. I believe in Ray Rice and Marques Colston to outperform their projections, and I think Cam won't get his.

The Golden Thumbs (Rick) vs. Zatties! (Zatren6)
-Zatties! favored by ~71

Yes, you're reading that right. Rick has SEVEN players on bye this week, Zatren6 gets the easy win.

Leatherbacks (Nick Soapdish) vs. One Hit Wonders (Nate River)
-Leatherbacks favored by ~6

I really want to pick you dood, but I don't have faith in Matt Ryan. Dez Bryant and Jordy Nelson are going to have to lead the way for you, but Megatron and Mike Wallace are a scary duo on the other side. Go Seattle and Tampa Bay, I guess?

The Wulfpack (Burning_wulf) vs. All we do is lose (Illmatic)
-All we do is lose favored by ~12

Even with Peyton Hilllis out, it's just hard to see how AARONRODGERS and company drop this one. Burning_wulf will need another improbably huge day from Hester to have a chance.

Ellicott Thundercats (True) vs. Reavers! (Insurrection)
-Ellicott Thundercats favored by ~20 (assuming Bye players are filled in)

Oh bye week. Exit Jeremy Maclin and A.J. Green, enter... Nate Washington and Johnny Knox? I don't think Drew Brees and Michael Turner to carry the Reavers! this week.

Sparky McRandomsons (Jwolf0) vs. Gama Warriors (Nee-sama)
-Sparky McRandomsons favored by ~9

I don't expect that line to hold, by the way. I also can't believe I'm starting Darrius Heyward-Bey, ugh. Here's hoping Antonio Gates didn't rush back too early. I hope you keep playing up to my expectations, Rashard Mendenhall!

Out of all the picks I made, I would be the least surprised to see this one go horribly wrong.

Overall pick record to date: 21-9

Saying my running backs look weak may be an understatement. I think that Footballguys rated Reggie Bush as #25 which is hugely overrating him - plus, he's questionable this week (along with Olsen, Wallace and Harvin). Bush was looking good in the first half last week before he got injured. And the Packers don't run much so even if Grant gets the bulk of the carries, they probably won't be many. It's too bad that Blount is still injured.

I would've liked my odds a bit better if Nate hadn't bothered to get a replacement for Janikowski. tongue.gif

I have both the Detroit and Chicago D's. I couldn't decide which would be better, but my first instinct was to pick against the team playing Turner, White, Jones (and Ryan). They've both been great D's at times, but inconsistent. So I just have to hope that I gambled right.
