Which rookie 9 members you would like to see to have more development?

This topic is for people who don't like the fact that Kishi focus too much on the main characters of his manga a.k.a team seven. I'm sure you all must be feeling like me that there characters in the rookie 9 who I or we believe deserves to have some development and Kishi doesn't have that in mind since he's following the main story of his manga meaning that secondary characters don't have a bigger role in it. But anyway here are the characters from the rookie 9 who I would like to see to have more development in the story.

1. Sakura- yes she's a main character and the heroine of the manga but she hasn't fought anyone since Sasori and that was like 200+ chapters ago. To me Kishi has done a good job developing her character emotionally but not in terms of strength. I would like for her to have more development growing stronger and fighting tough opponents, she's part of the main story but she's just standing there on the side lines doing nothing while Naruto or Kakashi have all the action. I was happy when she took a stand to take on Sasuke herself in order to protect Naruto and Konoha that was a huge turning point on her character development but then Kakashi saves her followed by Naruto and I have to . Point is I want Sakura training and fight someone strong to prove that she's really the heroine of the manga.

2. Tenten- she's probably one of the members of the rookie 9 who has the lowest panel count in the entire manga next to Sino, Ino and Hinata. She's also the character that Kishi has shown little interest according to the manga and I can see that she has a lot of potential to have more development in the story. Everyone during part 1 got a flashback of their lives in the past (Kiba, Neji, Lee, etc) but she never got one when she was little or why does she likes using weapons, better yet why did she chose to become a weapons expert in the first place??? I like her and I want to see more of her development when it comes to her life, family and fighting experience (I would to see her fighting an enemy and win because the last time she fought someone was back at the chunin exams and Temari owned her ) Kishi should be consider and give her some panel time. Although he did put her on the spotlight a little on 488 scolding Naruto for going after Sasuke on his own.

3. Ino- please Kishi give her some time to shine in the spot light a little or more panel time, we know she learned some medical ninjutsu from Tsunade but not the complete training from her like she did with Sakura. Her clan techniques are very useful in battle and Kishi doesn't take that in consideration to use it for her advantage as a way to develop her character further. I would have love if she got some training from Asuma before he died or some genjutsu training from Kurenai. Over all more fighting for her along with using more of her techniques (because the only time she has actually fought is against Sakura back at the chunin exams 400+ chapters ago. )

4. Rock Lee- the beautiful green beast of Konoha deserves to have some spotlight in the story besides his awesome fight against Gaara at the chunin exams. He's fast and his taijutsu skills are just awesome, the guy can become stronger than a kage with the gates. I would have like for him to fight Sasuke instead of being thrown into sleep by Sakura. I would really want if he engages in another awesome fight like the one with Gaara again in future chapters. Lastly I would like to know if Gai is his father since they have never shown who are his parents.

5. Hinata- last but not least one of my fav kunoichis (next to Sakura ) another character who has a lot of potential for great development before Kishi closed off her character development with chapter 437. We haven't seen the results of her training since part 2 started she used a technique we haven't seen before against Pain but it didn't even fazed him. I would like to see more panel time for her and she deserves to be on the spot light, of course with the exception that they are certain people who overate her and claim that she's the true heroine of the manga. I would also like for her to train more if she wants to earn the title of heiress of the Hyuga clan (that is if she really wants to become the leader of the clan)

I don't expect every character to have a huge spotlight in the manga. Some characters need to stay in the background to take up that space. otherwise everything is in the foreground and the character get jumbled.

Though I want to see Temari and Shikamaru gain more development. I like these two characters for their sarcastic attitudes. They are a match made in heaven.

I would like to see some stuff for Shikamaru, because he apparently becomes Naruto's confident ( )
Either that or give us some time to see the main character get development: NARU*******TO!

I said Temari. She doesn't get much time on screen either so it would be nice to see her as say the confidant to the confidant.

You're a Shika/Tem fan so do I. I don't see Shikamaru and Ino getting together they are more friends and teammate but nothing romantic compare to the moments Shikamaru and Temari had during the manga.




It could happen in future chapters because Kishi said so we have to wait. And you want Naruto to get more development? I believe Kishi is working on that as we speak.

I do not like Ino's character for some reason. Her character is...I don't know.

She reminds me of those stupid sorority girls in high school and college that think they are better than anyone else. When another girl threatens her space like...say Sakura...she become bitter and jealous and plans everything to her down.

Sakura, who is more of the underdog, changes and tries to become better, but soon realizes she is better as her own person, not like Ino is.

If anything, I would like to see development for her to change her character for the better.

Kishimoto started to do that, but she still retains that....barbie doll thing.

Well Ino does looks like a Barbie doll.

Actually I wish they all have developement. I want to see Sai actually become an offical ANBU now that Root is no more. I want Lee to step out of Guys shadow. I liked him better when his hair was kinda messy. I want Tenten to do alot more. She seems too weak now and days or at least is she is always getting saved by Neji have something Devlop between them. Neji all right with me. Kiba needs to do alot more and start caring more. Shino alright, Well of course with Hinata is step out been shy or take respondabilty and lead her Clan like she's supose to and stop comparing her problems with others. Well Shikamaru is developing okay every since Asuma died. I just don't like he's following his master and fathers foot steps with the drinking and smoking. Too bad Kishi said that there may not be a relationship with him. I mean next to Naruto he is the only one who interacts with someone on that level with Temari. I think if he ended up with Temari it would be a huge character development. Ino needs to stop trying to gets guys useing her body and get to know someone personal. I don't mind if she was with Shikamaru, at least their families know each other. Ino Nara. Choji eh! Well I don't know what to say about Choji. That is a tough one. Well we just have to wait till the war is over to find out who developes. What if Naruto or Sakura dies than someone will have to have a huge role.

Sakura - She's gotten more emotional.

Hinata - I know she had gotten strong, but not strong enough, I still think she's shy.

Sasuke - He's gotten more err... emotionless, I think Kishimoto got a bit far.

Others need spotlight too. I wonder if Kishimoto is being too emotional on Naruto.
I hate the show and the plot but I still watch it. The only thing I care is the couples now. Besides that, I think Kishimoto needs to have more development too, frankly speaking.

I really would like to see Shikamarus development, what are his real combat abilities aside his brains. Afterall Shika was deemed worthy of position in 12 Ninja guardians!

Also some real development for our heroine!

If Kishi tries to give secondary characters a back story at this point it will just drag the story out unecessarily. They're secondary characters so don't expect them to have much of a background.

There's fanfiction for that.

Hey, it's just our suggestions, it's not like we're going to petition to Kishi ourselves.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of Rock Lee. Shikamaru its probably going to be coming up in the future anyway, since he seems to be on the inside of things like Naruto and Sakura are.

Kick Hinata out of the love triangle and add Ino or Temari (probably Temari) instead to make things more interesting.

I"m sorry i just don't like the creepy byakugan eyes and hiding behind every corner watching every step Naruto makes just down right creepy.

What was the last time Hinata stalked Naruto? not since part 2 started she's no longer stalker Hinata.

I'd like to see more from Sakura... She's been to the background for a long time!!

Since we are taling about 2ndary cracters of the Rookie 9 and even the Kohanah 11.

I would like to see flashbacks of how Team 8, 10 and team Guy went from diferent people intop a team. We saw that with team, 7 (kind of) But never got to see how the 0ther groupd came togther

Yeah i know, i would just like to see some NaruX Tem cough*Anko cough* Mei cough* Konan for a fun change.

Agree. Leave her out of Naruto's love life.

Back on topic... the following need some development:

1) Shino: as much I don't like the bugs/insects attacks, I feel that he needs more development because to me, despite being all cool and collected, he's acting more of a background character. I need more history about him.

2) Tenten: and she's the favorite female character of Kishimoto because of her designs, yet he stills doesn't give her chance to shine. Same as Shino, needs a backstory, what family is she from, why is she's the weapon mistress, etc.

3) Ino: another one that just was put into background material. She did had some of her share of development with Sakura back in Part 1 but I feel that wasn't enough. Kishimoto didn't even explain how did she became a medic in the first place (I believe that filler at the end of the original series didn't help).

Now the rest of the Konoha 11 doesn't need any more development and I will explain my reasons:

1) Lee: he had tons of development back in Part 1. End of Story.
2) Shikamaru: he's done as well. He also had tons of development from Chunin Exam to Hidan and Kakuzu arc. (also I remember in that infamous interview for this year is that Shikamaru won't have romantic development, sorry ShikaTema fans, Kishi said it won't happen).
3) Hinata: her development should be done by now (Chapter 450 was the closure). Yet fans want her to be with Naruto because she has to in their eyes, which its definitely not the point of her theme and development.
4) Kiba: got his development around the end of Part 1.
5) Neji: he's done. The Chunin Exam and the end of Part 1 was enough to explain.
6) Chouji: Same as Kiba. He had his development around almost at the end of Part 1.

Now right now, these developments probably will not happen because the series looks like is about to be done soon.
