Although I didn't see a Zangief, Chun-li, Akuma, and Rose as well. All of those characters are pretty good. Especially Gief, he's pretty impressive.

Chun-Li was my original choice, but then I decided to use Cammy in the tourney for rushdown attack strategies.

Yeah I have to agree Sagat's the best character in the game. But it also depends on the players skill level. Everyone has to remember that the whole tier system is based on the highest lvl of skill players. For the level we are all on, the character match ups don't really matter because we're not in the that higher bracket of players.

Honestly its all about how much dedication you put towards improving. Just like with shooters, you don't get good over night. I suck terribly at shooters. Which is why i don't have a lot of them. But that's mainly because I don't put the effort towards getting better. Same thing with fighting games, no one starts off a Pro. And in comparison to some of the Japanese SF4 tournaments videos that are on Youtube, everyone here has a long way to go as well.

Well, we weren't trying to be like the Japanese tournament players
This tourny was just for us all to have fun gaming together, and that's what we did

And like Shauna said. The tournament was all in good fun Not really meant to be on the level of Jap tournaments....

I didn't say we were trying to be like the Japanese players, I was making the comparison because shadow_Uzumaki, made the comment on the videos. Also because everyone has various levels of skill and they shouldn't be intimidated because what occurred in our tournament videos seemed beyond their abilities. If anything Gone's proven that despite not having a lot of in game play you can still do quite well with a bit of dedication.
Also Gone, only thing that surprises me on that list is where Seth's placed. He was pretty broken from what I've been hearing and seen.

way more difficult then all the sagats i've faced..... One thing io find odd is that Ken is so far down
Ryu in that list..... i mean.... except for their ultra's and ex hurricane kick/dragon punch they're pretty much
the same....

Now I'm surprised in the list, Chun-Li is one of the top 10 but Seth is broken, he should be off of the list until Capcom fix him. (If they fix him).

The thing most people don't' realize is that Ken and Ryu aren't the same. That's like saying Ryu and Akuma are the same or Ken and Dan. They're abilities have different strengths and weaknesses. Also the flexibility you have in adding their ultras into a combo make a difference also. Ryu's always been stronger pound for pound then Ken, mainly because he's a more solid fighter. Ken only was a little bit faster and his dragon punch has a wider arc. They're normal moves aren't the same. If you pay attention to the small details, which the tier list does, you'll see their differences.

How come Akuma isn't on that list? Or am I missing something? Last I checked hes around top 10 since he has a lot of moves at his disposal, but his stamina is horrible so you can't take a lot of hits or you're screwed.
Also another SFIV tournament would be quite fun in another month or so. I know I'm up for it and would be great to see others as well!

Gouki is the japanese name for Akuma
Also, another SF4 tournament would be great, my 360 joystick should be here by then. ^^

If anyone doesn't know about the name changes in American and Japanese SF, I will explain:
In Japan, exclude Sagat, the Grand Masters were named as:
Claw ---> Balrog
Boxer ---> Mike Bison
Dictator ---> Vega
When SF2 came to American shores back in the day, Capcom USA feared that Mike Bison will cause some legal issue in terms that he's similar in name to Mike Tyson. So in America, we changed the names:
Claw ---> Vega
Boxer ---> Balrog
Dictator ---> M. Bison (M is for Master)
Now for later SF games, there were name changes for Akuma and Charlie respectfully, same with some characters in the Darkstalkers series.
Charlie <---> Nash (later became as Charlie Nash for the full name of the character now)
Akuma <---> Gouki (I don't know why this name wasn't accepted in American shores, it has something to do with his name's meaning).
